Family Camp Experience

Where to begin…..let me start by saying that in a nutshell camp was one of the best experiences we have had as a family! Before I get into all the details, I’d like to say that it’s beautiful to be able to look back and see how trusting the Lord and being obedient to him can lead you to a path better than you could have ever imagined. Three years ago when I felt the pull to homeschool, it seemed impossible. But I trusted God, and truly it felt impossible because I didn’t believe in myself yet God knew what was ahead. Even camp was part of that path, I had never even heard of camps like this and I imagine many others haven’t either.

So, if you are looking for an amazing experience with your family you will want to join us at Forest Home Camp next summer! It was an experience that we will never forget, for many years I prayed that my husband would open his heart to God. There has been so many stories on how camp has changed the lives of families for the better, and it did for us as well. There were so many amazing speakers, time of worship and connection and just time to be present. During our time at camp not only did we get to spend time together but also connecting with other families. We witnessed people getting baptized and others witnessed as my husband opened his heart and accepted Jesus as his Lord and savior. There isn’t any other type of vacations where you can have everything prepared for you and you get to just show up and be loved on and not only fed physically but spiritually too.

I hope you will join us for an amazing time! So if you do, first off make sure to register early and take advantage of their payment plan. You can register at www.foresthome.org and once you do, if you are a family of 3 or more be sure to email Ginger and let her know you are a first time family and referred by me to get $500 off! That’s an amazing deal! Once you are all set, and time gets closer, check back here to see what essentials to pack.

Packing list:

Refillable water bottles one for each person

Sunscreen( water resistant) one for each of the kids

Bug spray ( msg me for recipe)

Snacks

Toiletries: toothbrushes, toothpaste, face wash, floss, shampoo, body wash

6 changes of clothes for each person

bathing suits

towels

sandals & closed toe shoes for walking

water shoes for kids

first aid kit (I included homeopathic meds for colds, motion sickness and allergies )

Backpacks for each of the kids include a hat and label everything with their name

Bonus tip: Something I did after being in the sun all day even with sunscreen to prevent sun burn or irritation. I ended the night with a “sun care mask”. For 10 min before washing my face I applied Young Living’s seedling diaper rash cream and removed with soft wash cloth and washed my face! Not required but if you tend to burn easy this is a quick way to bring healing to the skin!

Looking forward to creating special memories with you next summer !!
