Self-care

So let’s talk about self-care, I know it’s a super trendy word right? I want to actually dig a little deeper because as an esthetican it’s what I talk about pretty much on the daily, but to me it’s so much more than what you can see. A few years ago, I asked myself the question, why am I in to this industry anyway? It was in a season where I felt no worth, believed I was far from beautiful. To be honest there was a time were I almost felt like a fake, I felt judged and out of place but what I realized the judgement was coming from the lies I believed. My heart began a process, that felt painful at the time but now looking back I’m grateful for the pain. Sounds crazy I know, but you see the more I let God into my heart and my life the more I see the beautiful things he has created, including myself. I can’t say God is amazing and he makes all things beautiful, and yet believe that I’m not beautiful. You may have heard the saying “self-care is not selfish”, and I agree 100% because truly the more we align with our purpose the more we realize we are not here for us, we are here for God’s glory, we then realize that self-care is actually one of the most selfless acts we do. You see, if we are here to love, and serve how can we truly love and serve others when we don’t love and care for ourselves? I can honestly say now that self-care is so important, and there are endless ways to practice it daily. Not only do I know why God led me into this industry now, but I am honored to be able to provide a way of self-care. My hopes for all the amazing people I connect with is that they too can realize how beautiful they already are, and that I am here to help you magnify that beauty. What is your favorite way to practice self-care? If you have yet to explore all the different way, I would love to connect with you and help you find ways to care for your heart, mind, spirit and body. I hope this encourages you to see self-care in a whole other way, if you feel joy celebrate with self-care, if you are sad or in a funk, self-care.
